Holly Hohnholt, a Rochester area real estate agent with Real Living Kee, received the President’s Award as her company’s top salesperson for the previous fiscal year. It’s not so much what she’s done that makes this award special, but rather how she’s done it. Hohnholt won the President’s Award with sales of $26 million. Her next closest competitor registers with $7 million. She outdistanced her competition by a nearly four-to-one margin.
“It’s a real honor,” says Hohnholt, who has served Oakland County from her Rochester Hills office for all 34 years of her career.
Her accomplishments are especially noteworthy considering the recent downward spiral involving the real estate market. With the assistance or her son, Larry, she’s been able to remain one of the area’s top agents through hard work, referrals, and repeat business.
“With the economy of today, many companies are cutting back, but that means more people are retiring and inventory is increasing” says Hohnholt. “Business is still busy.”
“People like to deal with people who have background, a reputation and have been around,” Says Hohnholt.
Hohnholt also says that customer service and honesty have been two key building blocks to her success.
“I work hard and take care of my customers, and it makes my business grow,” she says.
As for handing down some of her award-winning advice, Hohnholt recommends that people trying to break into the business come prepared to work and stay on top of their game plan.
“Treat it like a full time job” she says. “You can’t expect the competition to hand it to you; you’re the one who makes it happen”
